Dear Save Ten Mile Creek Advocate:

For more than 10 months, you have rallied, testified, canvassed, written letters, sent emails and made phone calls to Save Ten Mile Creek.  Thank you!

Your hard-nosed advocacy paid off on April 1 when the Montgomery County Council voted unanimously to approve a Ten Mile Creek Limited Master Plan Amendment that includes:

  • A 6% imperviousness limit on new development projects in the most sensitive areas;

  • Mandates of 80% open space requirements;

  • 200-foot buffers for wetlands, streams and groundwater springs; and

  • Reforestation goals of 65% forest cover for the entire watershed.

Now it’s time to celebrate! Please join us from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Thursday, May 15, 2014 at ANS Headquarters, Woodend Nature Sanctuary, 8940 Jones Mil Road, Chevy Chase, Maryland 20815 for a Ten Mile Creek Celebration.   RSVP today

During the party, we’ll thank and recognize our allies and champions, including Councilmembers Roger Berliner, Marc Elrich, Hans Riemer and Phil Andrews and Montgomery County Executive Ike Leggett. Enjoy light refreshments and most importantly, we will celebrate this victory for Ten Mile Creek and clean water together.

Please let us know you’re able to join us. RSVP today
