MNPS Program: Native and Non-native Vines in Maryland’s Natural Areas

Speaker: Speaker: Carole Bergmann, Forest Ecologist/Field Botanist, Maryland National Capital Parks & Planning Commission

This is our second presentation in 2015 to concentrate entirely on vines. We are delighted to have Carole Bergmann share her knowledge on this important topic. Join us to learn about both native vines and non-native invasive vines found growing in our Maryland Natural Areas. The presentation will include a lecture/slide component, but will also feature a table or two of “samples” gathered from nearby natural areas for “hands-on” identification and discussion purposes.

Location: White Oak Library Library, 11701 New Hampshire Ave, Silver Spring.

Directions:White Oak Library is located about 2 miles north of I-495. Take Exit 28 for New Hampshire Ave north. Or, coming from the west, take Exit 30 for Rte 29 north, then turn north on New Hampshire Ave for a short distance. Library is on the right.

The meeting is open to non-members.

Registration is not required.
