The term "pine barrens" typically evokes images of the pine barrens of New Jersey. But this habitat once extended for miles up and down the eastern coastal plain and remnants still exist in our area. In this presentation, Rod Simmons will describe his and others' discovery of local pine barrens, and the plant communities they contain.
