MNPS Field Trip: Spring Wildflowers at Flag Ponds

Along a lovely 1 mile trail on the cliffs of Calvert overlooking the Chesapeake Bay, a carpet of toothwort, Dutchman's breeches, saxifrage, and violets lay under paw paw, oaks, viburnums and other trees and shrubs.  Early spring warblers and other birds--Louisiana Waterthrush, Yellow-throated Warbler, Blue Gray Gnatcatcher among others--will provide a musical backdrop.

Leader: Karyn Molines 

For ages 16 to adults

Bring: Hand lens, binoculars, cameras. Wear comfortable walking shoes & dress for the weather.

MNPS members and Calvert Nature Society members are FREE.  Also FREE for volunteers with the Calvert County Habitat and Plant Survey
Non-member fee is $8.

Park is closed to the public on April 23.  Only those registered will have access.
