Having a woodland ecosystem in your own backyard whatever its size is possible. With so many acres of habitat being bulldozed globally even your own backyard no matter the size can have a big impact on allowing the woodlands back in to the city and suburbia. Reforestation step by step but if we all make that choice the improvements in biodiversity can be huge!

Speaker:  Lyle Almond- MNPS Chair, Eastern Shore Chapter

Lyle is a University of Maryland Extension agent based at the Wye Institute on the MD’s eastern shore. Prior to moving to MD he worked for 10 years in the temperate rainforests of the Olympic Peninsula on the NW coast of Washington State. He also trekked for 7 years across Europe researching methods for management of forest biodiversity.
