See the amazing display of early spring wildflowers as we walk along the Potomac River at Turkey Run. We will look for Virginia Bluebells, Squirrel Corn, Trout Lily, Dutchman's Breeches, Sessile Trillium, Cutleaf Toothwort, and much more. We will walk 3 miles round-trip: 1.5 miles to Dead Run where we'll take a lunch break and enjoy the waterfalls before returning back the way we came.

Leader:  Sujata Roy

MNPS members only thru March 4.

Limited to 20.

Notes:  We will be going down and back up a steep hillside. There also will be several stream crossings where you'll need to hop across rocks. Depending on the weather, the trail along the River can be muddy. There are bathroom facilities at Area C (parking lot).

Bring: Water, snacks, lunch, field guides, binoculars, hand lens, dress for the weather, wear sturdy walking shoes and clothes you don't mind getting muddy.  Hiking poles may be helpful.

Cancellation Policy:  The walk will be canceled if there's rain. I will notify registered participants by 7:30am (by email) the morning of the walk if it will be canceled.

Contact: (for additional information; not to register) Sujata Roy; cell 301-693-8316

Directions: Included in registration confirmation.
