This walk in the diverse Mattawoman plant community will concentrate on ferns, including several species of Dryopteris; Adder’s Tongue; Lady; Silvery Glade; New York; Cinnamon and Royal; Marsh; Broad Beech; Sensitive; Netted Chain; Glade; Rattlesnake; Grape; various clubmosses; etc., as well as whatever else we find in this rich habitat.

Leader:Jim Long, Cris Fleming, Dwight Johnson and Carl Taylor.

Bring lunch and water. Dress appropriately for wet areas, insects and poison ivy.

Registration required. This walk is limited to 30.
