Spring Plant Blitz: Woodworth Trail Hike (Monday)

Visit an urban forest that has been freed from invasives by the volunteers of Friends of Lower Beaverdam Creek over the past 16 years. It is a 1.5 mile out and back trail with uneven terrain and some steep elevation changes.
Leaders: Gabe Horchler (FLBC) and Diane Beedle (MNPS)
Gabe worked at the Library of Congress, and since retiring in 2017, and especially since the pandemic, has spent much of his free time working on the Woodworth Trail.
Diane is on the Board of MNPS and is the chair and co-founder of the Cheverly Native Plant Project. She has a long history of advocacy, policy work, and direct service from the local to the national level. She has worked as a community organizer, a recycling program's daily operations manager, and a legislative staffer on Capitol Hill and for a national non-profit before opening her own business selling vintage wares and her handwoven baskets and rugs from sustainable materials.
ONLINE REGISTRATION IS  REQUIRED. Limited to 15 people.
Registration through April 6 for members only. Registration closes May 1.

Notes: Moderate hike of  1.5 miles
Closed toed shoes and long pants suggested. Most of the hike is under tree canopy. Bring your own water and tick repellent if desired
Cancellation Policy: Trip will proceed in light rain but will be canceled if heavy rain/thunderstorm.
