Fall Conference Sunday Field Trip: Suitland Bog Tour (Suitland)

Registration will open on 9/3. Conference participants do not need to register.

The Suitland Bog is one of the last remaining Magnolia Bogs in the DC area. It is home to a number of rare and interesting plants including Red Milkweed, Northern Pitcher Plants, and Rose Pogonia orchids. We will begin in the upland area and travel down into the gravel bog observing the plant and animal life along the way.

Leader: Kim Stringer

Level of Difficulty: Easy. The trail and boardwalk are natural surfaces and not paved. There are bathroom facilities nearby, but not on site.
