Come see a beautiful diverse meadow in Cabin John Regional Park. It has both wet and drier areas and we will see a wide variety of grasses and flowering plants in full bloom. This meadow has not been planted or seeded. If there is time we can also visit another meadow in the park that has been the focus of restoration efforts and compare the two habitats.
Level of Difficulty: Easy to moderate, includes walk up a steep natural trail to a meadow area.
Anne DeNovo is a Master Naturalist and former field trip coordinator and leader for MNPS. For several years she has been helping to conduct a plant survey and inventory of the meadows at Locust Grove Nature Center.
Event Co-Hosts: University of Maryland Extension Maryland Native Plants Program and University of Maryland School of Landscape Architecture
