Weed Warrior Training
May 3, 2014
Sponsored by Carroll County Forest Conservancy District Board and the Carroll County Master Gardeners

Become a weed warrior!  Enjoy nature!  Get exercise!  Help wildlife!  Earn student service hours!

After the loss of habitat, the spread of invasive non-native plants is the biggest threat to our native plants and the native critters that depend on them. Join the Carroll County Weed Warriors and help us remove these invasive weeds from our nature centers.

The Carroll County Forest Conservancy District Board and the Carroll County Master Gardeners are offering free training on the identification and removal of invasive non-native plants.  Those who complete the training will receive a Weed Warriors identification card and will be put on an email list to notify you of weeding opportunities at Bear Branch Nature Center/Hashawha Environmental Center, Piney Run Nature Center, and other public sites.  Students will receive student service hours for both the 3 hours of training and for each of the 3-hour weeding sessions.

Where:  Piney Run Nature Center building, 30 Martz Road, Sykesville, MD 21784
